About Me!

Hi there!
My name is Devi and I am 19 years old and currently studying Accounting and Finance Ba (Hons) at the University of Greenwich. I have just managed to survive my first year and now proceeding onto the second which I am actually quite nervous about. I was born in west London and have been studying there since I came onto higher education at Greenwich which is when I made my first big move to South London. When it came to the time where I had to decide what I wanted to do with my life, so many ideas were streaming through my mind, Biomedical Science, Dentistry, Accounting, Finance, Banking, something that will help me make quick money! But, I also realised that it is very important to study a subject that I enjoy. I did not hold the academic credentials to go into the science field so I decided to study Accounting and Finance because I had that interest in world finance and economics. I actually didn't realise how respected the degree was until I started it and when people heard I was studying accounting I could see the reactions on peoples’ faces!
Less about my degree, and more about myself, I love to socialise and spend time with my friends in and around London. My favourite place in London would be Piccadilly Circus and of course GREENWICH! The main reason why I like Piccadilly is because there’s always something going on there, you get people who stand frozen for hours and it is quite entertaining! Not to mention that Haagen Dasz is also situated in Piccadilly *drools*. Greenwich is a beautiful area, it’s clean and the heritage buildings add a really nice effect to the area I stay in during term time. Also the market is quite good, there are really funky stalls on the weekends and during weekdays there are mainly antiques.

Since I've moved out to university and gained my independence I've really started to take an interest in my hobbies which are photography, drawing, painting, poetry and reading. I don’t always get time to fulfil these hobbies because of the course I’m studying but I still manage to fit in some time, it’s important to allow yourself to relax from the studies once in a while otherwise you will drive yourself crazy! I have two elder brothers who went to university as well, but in their “time” it only cost roughly £1,000 per year and one of them even got into uni when it was FREE! So hard to believe that university was free once upon a time *wipes tears*
But it’s not that bad, I would say that the fees can be quite daunting but it is a once in a life time experience that everyone needs, it’s like the stepping stone to your independence and I would most definitely advise anyone who is planning to study at university (especially Greenwich) to go for it! You won’t regret it!
